Main Hall Refurbishment: Phase 1 FLOOR
Work is currently under way to improve Dunbar Castle Social Club Main Hall FLOOR. Here are some images of the Floor undergoing the process of being skimmed, sanded and resealed. The carpet has been removed and the central floor area of approx 17 msqu is shown in all it glory. The building was built in the 1950’s as the towns telephone exchange and the floor designed to Ministry Standards to house the equipment.
This Maple wood is actually one of the hardest of hardwoods. Relatively easy to machine, but a little hard on blades and bits. It is a straight grain wood with good strength and finishing characteristics. Maple is what the lanes at a bowling alley are made from.
This floor is a great asset to DCSC making it ideal for dance groups and sport enthusiasts maybe even bowlers !
Thanks to Steve from Haddington’s Lothian Hardwood Flooring for transforming the tired to the refreshed.
